Here's how it works. you can either add or subtract 1 number, if it reaches a multiple of 4 (4,8,12,16 etc) the poster can choose to send it back to zero.
(so Bob posts 1, Jill 2, mike 3, Dave decides to go back to zero.)
It sounds bland but I've seen it work on other forums.
